Awareness and self-management
These articles were written to help you better understand your problem and why you have pain. Remember that the problem is the cause of your pain and not vice versa. Understanding some of the factors of your condition will help with proper self management to recover as quickly as possible and reduce the risk of symptomatic relapse. You must respect your present limits. Too much or too little of any activity can increase the risk of irritation or lesion to the tissues and intensify your suffering. Learning to listen to your body in everyday life is essential to proper self-management. If you have pain during activity, then you should decrease that activity. If the pain starts after standing, sitting or lying down, then you need to move more frequently. The application of the right amount of activity is what allows dis-inflammation and healing of your lesioned tissues. Proper self-management also reduces risk of a painful relapse. If you have questions ask at your next control. It's your health. Get involved.
